#57 - Make Linkedin a Job Generating Machine (5 secrets how...)
Learning Salesforce is easy.
You jump on trailhead, follow the path that's outlined, and stay consistent with the work.
But learning salesforce ≠ landing a job.
That's where marketing yourself comes into play...
With over 70,000 followers, 28,000+ weekly profile views, and millions of impressions each month...
You could say I might know something on this topic.
5 tips to turn your LinkedIn profile into a job generating machine
Let's get it ↓
Tip #1: Upgrade Your Profile Picture
Hate it or love it, it's your 1st impression.
Google, facebook, instagram, youtube, gmail, and any other app on your phone already has hacked you years ago...
Your LinkedIn pic ain't the problem.
So, I strongly encourage you to upload a profile picture so you don't kill your chances of landing that job or meeting the ppl who will help.
Check the vibe you give off:
Upload your pic to photofeeler
Analyze the feedback
Keep or pic a new pic based on feedback
Tip #2: Leverage Keywords
The right keywords help you show up in more searches.
To find them:
Find 20+ job descriptions for target roles
Paste them all into ResyMatch JD scanner
Save the top 15 skills
This is going to help you showcase the relevant skills you already have and what the company is looking for.
Don't miss this on accident.
Tip #3: Write A Killer Headline
This shows off how you help others.
And can we please all make a pact right now to kill off words like "ninja", "wizard", and "guru"...?
This isn't Hogwarts.
Instead, do this:
[Keywords] | [Skills] | [Results-Focused Value Proposition]
Or this...
I help [your audience] do [result]

Tip #4: Leverage Your Featured Section
Resumes are trash.
With the birth of social media & the internet it's ludicrous to think that you are going to cram who you are onto one piece of paper.
So, turn in your resume
BUT
Rely on your Linkedin profile to tell the real story.
This works well when you utilize the featured section
Include things like:
Personal portfolio
Content you've created
Certs you've recently achieved
Oh yeah...
Don't forget to Include keywords!
Tip #5: Engage & Support Others
It's called social media for a reason.
Creating a profile lets you play the game but does basically nothing for you if you choose to never use it.
And don't worry...
You don't have to start creating content right off the bat to see results.
To begin:
Find 5-10 thought leaders in your target space
Copy the URL to their profile
Paste it in your notes on your phone
Check their feeds daily
Leave a supportive, valuable comment on each new post
Even with 70,000 follower I STILL do this.
