I got thinking about this topic b/c of Chris Dey this week.

He’s an amazing member in our community, Simple Salesforce.

He created an impressive portfolio this week and shared it with us.

He talked us thru:

What he did
How he did it
Why he did it

All that got me thinking one thing…

This is why Chris will stand out in the sea of cookie-cutter applications of Salesforce.

He’s this now.

So, to spark some imagination on what’s truly possible

I scraped the internet for the best portfolios, all so you didn’t have to.

So, let’s get this

Example #1: Dr. Seuss Who?

I always thought Dr. Seuss had the most creative 🧠

This guy got me thinking tho…

Why?

Oh, well b/c it’s the most creative portfolio I’ve ever seen.

That’s why.

It has to be one of the most fool proof ways I’ve seen in a portfolio to literally prove to your future boss you ARE a creative dev.

AND

You should now take their job and run the department 😅

Example #2: Pure Copywriting

This website broke my brain.

Part of the creativity on this one is you figuring it out and appreciating the simplicity and beauty behind how he designed this to showcase his skills.

So, I don’t want to ruin it.

Once I saw it, I couldn’t help but laugh in pure awe.

Example #3: Quirky, blunt & fun

I know the bar is high now from examples 1 & 2 with them being interactive and mind blowingly creative…

BUT!

This is a cool take on how to jazz up your own personal portfolio and still add in a lot of creative elements.

Also dig the idea that he self proclaims what he wants them to think

Def going to be stealing that idea.

Example #4: Vibes

Show personality.

That’s exactly what Dan does here.

With the use of images he gives you a sneak peek into:

His brain
His lifestyle

Which is a huge advantage before someone even contacts you.

Will be incorporating this into mine in 2023.

Example #5: Monochrome

I’m usually against just two colors.

The only person up until today that I thought could pull it off was none other than the infamous Jack Butcher (greatest minimal designer alive).

His whole brand is just black and white.

And that worked, cause it was his brand.

For a resume I never recommended this, but I’m going to have to eat my words on that.

Example #6: Clear, concise & classy

Not all of us have the skills shown today.

Which is normal.

And I’m not discrediting the work that went into this one
Cause you can tell it still took work

But in comparison to the lineup today

I liked this one cause it seemed the most realistic one to mirror
